Lesson Rates (Private, Semi-Private, & Group)

BASES offers a wide range of instructional options for all levels of athlete from beginner to advanced.  An instructor evaluation session may be recommended (but not required) for any athlete younger than 7 years of age interested in getting personalized instruction.  The purpose of the instructor evaluation is to ensure that your athlete will benefit from the instruction process before you make a significant financial commitment.  This evaluation will consist of two parts; 1) an interview with the athlete and parent(s) to determine needs and experience level and, 2) a 25 to 35 minute performance review of the atheletes basic skill set (i.e. hitting, throwing, fielding, running, power hitting).  The cost for this evaluation is $20.  If a lesson or lesson package is purchased, the cost of the evaluation will be applied toward the athlete's first session. If a student has previously participated in professsional instruction or a previous skills evaluation at BASES, we reserve the right to decline the courtesy of the evaluation process.

Lessons at our training facility are more than just "teach and show" sessions.  Our instructors have access to an extremely powerful tool called Right View Pro Video Analysis software.  Most instructors will incorporate the use of video analysis in their regular lessons.  The degree of video use is up to instructor preference and the specific needs of the student.  There is NO EXTRA CHARGE for the video instruction that is part of a paid lesson session.

A single lesson or lesson package can be tailored to focus on a specific area of interest or it can cover a variety of skills, depending on the athlete's needs.  We may recommend a particular instructor based on the athlete's sport (baseball or softball), age, skill level, commitment, and needs and the strengths of the particular instuctor.  However, the final decision on selection of an instructor lies with the athlete and parent.

Rates will vary based on instructor, length of lesson, and type of lesson.  Semi-Private (2 students per class) or Group (3 - 4 students per class) instruction will be more affordable but may not always be the best fit for a particular student.  Each decision should be an individual determination.  Rate ranges are supplied in the column to the right.  Specific lesson prices will be quoted after determination of type, class size, and number of lessons.  Discounts may be available for certain multiple lesson packages and when using apprentice instructors.

PAYMENT FOR LESSONS

Due to the increasing occurence of "no shows" for initial lessons, PAYMENT FOR ANY INITIAL LESSON IS REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF SCHEDULING.

6-Pack discounted rates are available when an individual purchases 6 OR MORE lessons at one time.  Payment for the first lesson (as a minimum) is required at the time of scheduling.  If an individual decides to purchase a discounted package they may choose to do so at the end of their first lesson by paying the difference between their first payment and the total amount for the number of discounted lessons purchased.

LESSON PACKAGES MAY BE SPLIT & SHARED BY MULTIPLE FAMILY MEMBERS.
SPECIAL RATES can be quoted for multiple family members sharing the same scheduled lesson.  In this example, a family can save money over paying the Semi-Private rates for both children in the same class.  For example, if a 1-hour private lesson package is purchased any lesson in that package may be shared/split by two individuals (working separately for 30 minutes each during the scheduled hour).  Any lesson in that package is still scheduled for the full 1-hour session for each occurence.  A customer may not divide the hour into two separately scheduled 30-minute sessions.

Apprentice Instructor Rates:
Some of our instructors may be categorized as "apprentice" instructors. These individuals, while being well qualified in their respective disciplines, are still developing their teaching and instructional skills.  As a result, we offer "apprentice" rates for lessons given by these instructors. This customer budget-focused feature is not offered at most other facilities, even when the instructor may be new to his/her trade. Use of an "apprentice" instructor will always be discussed up-front and is solely at the discretion of the customer.  It offers another option to those families on a tight budget but still looking to get quality training. Apprentice rates are most often available during the summer period when those apprentice instructors (often college level ball-players) are available.

Apprentice Lesson Rates:

Apprentice rates are offered for 45-minute and 60-minute lessons.  The actual cost will be that of the next lowest level for a regular instructor.  For example, a single 45-minute private lesson with an apprentice instructor would be $50 (the 30-minute rate for a regular instructor).  A six-pack for the same example would  be at $270 per lesson ($45 per lesson).
